Caregiver Support/Coordination; Spiritual Direction
Joann Goertz
I have lived in the sunny desert of Arizona all my life where I received a BA in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Arizona. I and my husband have lived in Tucson for 45 years, where we raised 4 children and where I was the primary caregiver for two aging parents and a disabled brother. My pursuit of a Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies has focused on the blending of theology with spirituality and the care of others.
I have volunteered in various churches and local schools, have been a volunteer chaplain at a skilled nursing facility in Tucson, and have been a caregiver in other local facilities. I was the caregiver for my husband when he was undergoing treatment for an aggressive form of lymphoma where observations of patients at the cancer clinic opened new insights into the depths of pain and suffering those going through challenging medical circumstances face. I have also had considerable experience dealing both with dementia patients as well as the families of those with dementia.
These life experiences allow me to walk alongside you, offering spiritual comfort and hope while you navigate challenges associated with medical trauma or the aging and care of a loved one.

Emily McConnell, LMSW
There are times when life becomes intense. We can feel overwhelmed by grief, major life changes, relationship conflicts, and just trying to do what we need to do. I meet clients with empathy and a calm, steady presence centered on things that matter.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of roles that continue to guide my work as a therapist. I have managed a small business, raised 3 children, volunteered at my church, and worked across systems including healthcare, child welfare, and education. I have provided therapy for individuals managing anxiety, depression, life changes, and loss. My experience also includes leading groups focused in areas such as parenting, substance use recovery, and grief.
These roles have taught me how to listen well, respond thoughtfully, and help people move toward meaningful change. Whether you’re looking for space to process something deeply personal or tools to handle everyday stress, I’m here to support your goals with compassion and respect.

Life's complex, whether you're leading a team, navigating family, or facing personal struggles. My approach is grounded in real-world experience.
Relationships are my passion: from businesses to psychiatric emergencies alongside first responders, and mediating family crises. I've guided families, couples, and children through counseling, first-onset psychosis, and trained professionals in resilience, trauma navigation, and de-escalation. My work also includes bridging gaps between non-profits, government, and faith-based organizations for education, child-development, and anti-trafficking efforts.
This diverse background means I understand the pressures people face in many domains of life, whether you're feeling burned out, a family needing support, or an executive looking for practical organizational strategies. My goal is to help you build resilience, navigate challenges, and find effective solutions.
